Weekly Seminars

About the seminars:

The weekly seminars meet Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm. The seminars are designed to help give you the information you need to make informed and correct choices and decisions on the numerous physical, mental and spiritual factors that affect your weight and fitness.

Without the right information, you can make many wrong choices. Even with the right information, you may still habitually have a tendency to make the wrong choices. Recognizing this, the seminars will deal with how to change negative habits into positive ones, how to overcome inner resistance to change, and related topics.

Seminar structure:

The weekly seminars are one hour long. Master Eric Sbarge will lead the seminars, with Dr. Yi-Jun Lin coming in once a month to speak specifically on nutrition.

The first ten minutes or so of each seminar will be dedicated to a Group Open Forum Discussion, where members can discuss personal challenges, ask questions, talk about accomplishments, share news items and so on. The next ten minutes will be for Buddy Meet-Up. In your "Buddy Groups" of four people you will compare progress, work on buddy challenges, and so on. The next 35 minutes will be for the week's topic presentation via lecture, videos, group activities, discussion and so on. The final five minutes will be for review and Q & A.

Weekly Seminar Topics:

Every person who enrolls in the Boot Camp does so via our Twelve-Month Introductory Trial Program. We hope you will choose to enjoy the arts we teach for many years to come, but at a minimum twelve months gives you enough time to learn about healthy lifestyle practices and to change negative lifestyle habits into positive ones. Because new members are continually joining the program, and because just as in our kung fu or tai chi classes we need repetition to reinforce and master the curriculum, the seminar topics repeat themselves approximately every six months. During a minimum twelve-month period, you will be able to cover each important topic at least twice.
